Marvin Thibodeaux

Marvin Raymond Thibodeaux, age 90, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was a native of Labadieville and a resident of Chauvin, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with burial following in church cemetery. Marvin is survived by his sons, Marty J. (Debbie) Thibodeaux and Mark A. (fiancé, Carmen) Thibodeaux; daughters, Linda B. (Spencer) Rhodes, Mona T. (Terry) Blanchard, and Melinda A. Thibodeaux; sister, Joanne Reynolds; grandchildren, Raymond Rhodes, Wes Thibodeaux, Kellie Blanchard, Katie Hutchinson, Joby Blanchard, Whitney Blanchard, Kyle Bourg, Kent Bourg, Shae Thibodeaux, Jordan Thibodeaux, Bethany Tom; 18 great-grandchildren; and his fur baby Jolie’. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Meryl Theresa Robichaux Thibodeaux; parents, Wiley John and Amy Corina Thibodeaux; brother, Donald J. (Gloria) Thibodeaux. Marvin was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He retired from South Central Bell after 30 years of service. He was a volunteer firefighter for 60 years and fire chief of Little Caillou Fire Department for 20 years. He served in the US Marines during the Korean War as a telephone lineman. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, hunting, and watching LSU sports. He loved to invent new things and was an excellent craftsman. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
