Kenneth Doc Wright

Kenneth “Doc” Holden Wright II, was born October 6, 1959 and passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the age of 58. He was a native and resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, October 7, 2018, beginning at 5:00 pm lasting until 9:00 pm and St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Monday, October 8, 2018, beginning at 9:00 am lasting until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Doc is survived by his wife of 26 years, Neta Sue Jones Wright; parents, Thomas “Elly” and Nancy Lowrie Wright; daughters, Taylor Marie Wright and Allie Shea Wright; sister, Katherine "Kitty" Cenac and husband, Walt; granddaughter, Olivia Sue Rochel; brothers-in-law, Michael Smith, Sr. and wife, Hyon Chu, Bobby Jones and husband, Robert, and David Jones and wife, Monique; sisters-in-law, Jan Barnett and husband, Randy, and Tricia Cannon; numerous nieces and nephews.

Doc is preceded in death by his sons, Thomas and Joseph Holden Wright; in-laws, "Bee" Jones and wife, Frances; brother-in-law, Richard Jones.

Doc was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. In 1986, he opened a business "Doc Wright Paint & Wallpaper". When the business moved into their new building on West Park Avenue, the name was changed to “Wright Floorcovering”. It grew into a well-known successful business; the company made many loyal customers and friends. He was a member of the Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association. He served on the Bayou Cane Fire Protection District Board for many years and was recently recognized with an honorary Fire Chief Commissioner plaque. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to MD Anderson and staff, Dr. T.
