John "Renae" Lyle

John Renae Lyle Jr, age 74 passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 18, 2018. He was a native of Houma and a resident of Bourg.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday December 21, 2018. Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM and visitation will continue until the Liturgy of the Word service at 6:00 PM.

Renae is survived by his Wife of 50 years, Gail Boudreaux Lyle; son, Jason Lyle and wife Janet; and the grandchildren he adored, Reece Lyle and Abby Lyle; and sisters, Jean Carol Scurto and Liz Trosclair.

Renae is preceded in death by his Father, John Renae Lyle, Sr.; Mother, Florence Margaret Carrere Lyle; and sister, Christine LeBoeuf.

Renae was a loving husband, a good father and doting grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved sports but most of all he loved horse racing. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Pacific. After returning to Houma he began his career in the Oilfield and retired after 30 years. He was an icon in the oilfield known as "Big Moon"

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
