Glenn "Butch" Burnett

September 14, 1946 — May 1, 2021

Glenn "Butch" Davis Burnett, age 74, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:35 p.m. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, May 9, 2021 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, May 10, 2021 beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Padua Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Bayou Black Cemetery.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Marie Chaisson Burnett; son, Ryan T. Burnett; daughter, Melissa "Missy" B. Bergeron and husband, Chad; step-daughter, Allison D. Lovell and husband, Lance; brother, Huey Burnett; grandchildren, Grant Bergeron, Reece Bergeron and fiancé Abby Ledet; step-grandchildren, Austin Naquin, Cohen Lovell, and Caden Lovell; numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Sigur H. and Sadie Giroir Burnett; brothers, Jewett "Jack", Charles, Lou Gehrig, Donald, and Carl “Jay” Burnett; and his beloved companion Harley.

Glenn served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was part owner of Burnett Farms, owner/operator of Burnett, Inc., and later in life he made many friends while being a runner for local car dealerships.  He was a past member of the Krewe of Hercules. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched. Special thanks to Dr. Patrick Walker, Dr. Gregory Maidoh, Dr. Ralph Bourgeois, CIS staff, and the many nurses who cared for Glenn during his stay at TGMC.
