Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine LeBoeuf Pitre; son, David C. Pitre and wife, Emily; daughter, Beth P. Landry and husband, Lloyd IV; sister, Mona P. Stoufflet; sisters-in-law, Arlene Pitre and Ernestine "Teenie" Pitre, Sandra Ledet, Kay Hebert, and Marguerite Fletcher; grandchildren, Cody, Athena, Blaine, Farah, Gabrielle, MaryBeth, Lloyd V “Five”, and Madeline; and great-grandchildren, Reagan, Cole, Caleb, and Reese.

Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a lifetime parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister, usher, and handyman. He was a loyal and trusted employee for Texaco for 34 1/2 years and on his time off he was a carpenter for over 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 272 in Montegut, The Forty and Eight, and Houma Terrebonne Planning Commission. He coached boys’ basketball and girls’ softball for TPR. He was an avid Tulane fan. Charles enjoyed wood working, making homemade hot sauce with his son, and spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched and helped. Charles was called back home to be with the ultimate carpenter, Jesus Christ. He’s probably renovating something already.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Montegut) in his honor.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Russell Henry and his staff for their love and care. The family would also like to thank Paul Duet with Hospice of South Louisiana for his ultimate care and comfort to Charles and the family.
