Wayne David Ledet

Wayne David Ledet, 74, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 4:52am surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends of the family are invited to a visitation on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00am until service time. Funeral Service will begin Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home at 12:00pm with burial to follow at Terrebonne Memorial Park in Houma, LA.

Wayne is survived by his loving family; his wife of fifty-two years, Nancy Shipe Ledet; children, Valerie Ledet Hornsby (Rusty) and Melissa Ledet Verdin (Randy "Sac"); siblings, Ken Ledet (Phyllis), Glenn Ledet (Rhonda), Lorraine Marcel (Steve), Julia Ledet, Lisa Ledet; sister and godchild Cheryl Folse (David); godchildren, Kay Pelloquin, Trey Parria, and Jared Folse; grandchildren, Joseph Randy Verdin Jr., Kayla Jean Besson (Shawn), and Joshua Paul Verdin; great-grandchildren, Hunter Verdin, Mason Garza-Delaney, Wyatt Verdin, Persephone Mae Chavez-Verdin, Beaux Paul Besson, Molly Jean Besson, and Vivian Kate Besson.

Wayne is preceded in passing by his parents, Louis Ledet Sr. and Willie Mae Eschete Ledet; father and mother in law, Calvin and Norma Shipe; brother, Louis "LP" Ledet Jr., Ralph Ledet; brother-in-law, Rickey Cavalier; and great grand-daughter, Elliana Chavez-Verdin.

Wayne enjoyed bowling and playing pool, going to the casino and eating out with all his family. One of his pass times was playing games on his phone and smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee while playing.

Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid and huge fan of Saints and LSU football. Wayne was known for having a well developed sense of humor. He was always playing and telling jokes to family and friends.

The family would like to thank all the staff and medical personal of Terrebonne Health Systems who gave of their time, love and care to Wayne and family in their time of need.
