Wade Albert Fournier, Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on June 21, 1947, in Houma, Louisiana. He was the beloved husband of Paulette Fournier, with whom he shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. Wade was known for his warm smile and infectious laughter. He had a passion for BBQ and seafood boils. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies of fishing and hunting, particularly for ducks and deer. Wade cherished the time spent at his camp, where he created countless cherished memories with family and friends. Wade was a past member of the Krewe of Hercules, where he proudly participated in local festivities. He enjoyed his time square and round dancing with his loving wife. Wade is survived by his loving wife, Paulette Rogers Fournier; sons, Wade Fournier, Jr. and Craig Fournier (Kim); grandchildren, Beau Fournier, Taylor Fournier Samuel, Jessica Trahan, Alexis Trahan Giroir; great grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Evelyn, Charlee, Sunny, Elise, Colt, Vincent, and Violet; brother, Wayne Fournier and wife Jean. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Cindy, Monique, Amy, Christie, Megan, Ard; brother-in-law, Ronnie "Fru" Rogers; sister-in-law, Becky Rogers. Wade is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mary Lirette Fournier; grandparents, Onezip and Clemence Breaux Fournier and Anita Lavigne Lirette; mother and father-in-law, Noble and Eunice Rogers; brothers-in-law, Dale Rogers and Arden Rogers; sister-in-law, Gail Rogers. He is reunited with those he loved who have passed before him, resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wade's light will continue to shine through the hearts of all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at St. Gregory Catholic Church on Friday, August 28, 2026. A public viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Mass at 12:00 PM. Wade will be laid to rest shortly thereafter, surrounded by the love of his family and friends at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2. Wade Albert Fournier, Sr. will be dearly missed, yet his legacy of joy, laughter, and love will remain alive in our hearts forever.
