Vernis Robichaux, Sr.

Vernis Mitchell Robichaux, Sr., 74, a native and resident of Houma, La. died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 8:52 am. Vistiation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery. Vernis is survived by his five children, Vernis, Jr., Timmy and wife Donna, Lisa and husband Michael, Philip and significant other Louise and Oscar Robichaux; one sister, Verna Robichaux Oberholtzer; 13 grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca, Jeremiah, Elizabeth, Timothy, Sara, Kailyn, Sky, Katrina, Katherine, Theresa, Austin and Donovan; 6 great grandchildren, Erica, Samantha, Gracie, Leaux, Sandra and Natalie. Vernis was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Adele Marie Robichaux, his parents, Edven, Sr., and Florence Robichaux, daughter-in-law, Lisa, two sisters, Virginia and Virdrine; two brothers, Vergus and Edven; and one great grandchild, Britney. Vernis loved Elvis and enjoyed making people laugh. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Robichaux family.
