Verlon C. Daigle, 83 was born June 24, 1943, in Concord, North Carolina and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday July 5, 2026 in Gray, Louisiana.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 63 ½ years Patricia, son Michael, daughters Peggy (Tommy) and Hope, grandchildren Zachary, Matt, Luke (Alyssa), Brad (Natalie), Jordan, TJ (Melissa), Jenna (Jensen), Nikki (Sean),12 great-grandchildren and sister Sandra.
He is preceded in death by his parents Malvin and Jackie Daigle and mother-in-law Regina (Nina) Legendre.
Verlon was a remarkable man of many talents, interests and hobbies. His focus was always on his family, especially his wife Patricia. When he wasn't restoring old Chevrolets, he was driving them around the United States in their motorhome for their many travels. He loved learning new things and when he did, he would do them until he was the best he could be. From flying model airplanes & helicopters to painting murals, from taking pilot lessons to learning to do blown glass he was always onto something new. His most precious hobby was being a Real Santa which he did for over twenty years. He brought so much joy to so many children and grown-ups as well. He truly was a Real Santa to so many. But no matter what he did or where he went, he never wavered in the love he had for his precious Patricia. Maybe that's why he enjoyed restoring Chevrolets so much because that's how he ended up getting the beautiful girl.... It was the '59 Chevy that did it. He pulled up to get gas at the diner she was working at, and she ran out to tell him she couldn't go out with him that evening and he said, "well, I didn't ask you to" and well, the rest is their history together.
We would like to thank Debra, Denay, Jodie, Patti and Nathaniel from Haydel Hospice for their kindness and compassion during these last few months.
