Tommy Dyson Sr.

April 19, 1956 — October 17, 2021

Tommy Clayton Dyson Sr., age 65, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 17, 2021. 

Tommy was born in Odessa Texas, to Billie and George Dyson.  He attended high school in Montgomery, Louisiana and eventually settled down in Houma. Tommy was hard working and innovative, starting his career with GEM Wire Rope & Slings.  He later co-founded B & G Wire Rope, Coastal Wire Rope & Sea Ropes which was his most recent business endeavor.  These companies became industry leading and prosperous businesses under his leadership throughout the years.  He was a Master Mason having been raised on January 19, 2005, and Past Master of Terrebonne Fellowship Lodge #481, a Scottish and York Rite Mason, Commandery of Knights Templar, Ka-Jon Grotto and Jerusalem Shrine Temple member.  Tommy was known for his ability to relate to anyone, never meeting a stranger and always lending a hand to anyone who needed help.  Tommy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Living Word Church 1916 Hwy 311, Schriever on Friday, October 22, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m. with burial following in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Trudy Gale Leonard Dyson; son, Tommy Clayton Dyson Jr. and wife, Courtney and their children Luke C. Dyson, Camryn N. Dyson, Emily O. Dyson, and Jake A. Dyson; daughter, Tera Dyson Gaidry and husband, Edward “Jim” and their children Kelsey L. Dyson, Evan J. Gaidry and Owen C. Gaidry; brother, Jimmy Dyson and wife, Jan; sisters, Brenda D. Powell and husband, Ricky and Sandra D. Marien and husband, Joe; great-grandchild, John Trosclair Jr.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Billie Louise Gladden Dyson; brother, Ronny Dyson and grandchild Mia M. Gaidry.
