Thomas Leo Martin

July 28, 1952 — June 5, 2022

Thomas Leo Martin, age 69, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at his residence. Thomas was a longtime resident of Chauvin but recently resided in Gray.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, June 10, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Vanessa Smith Martin; sons, Chad Martin and wife Dristi-Lynn, Jamie Martin and wife Crystal; grandchildren, Julia, Savion, and Salem Martin; niece, Katie Theriot; nephew, Coby Smith; godson, Brandon Price; father-in-law, Nolan Smith; brother-in-law, William “Yom” Price.  

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Ella Pellegrin Martin; sister, Suzie Price; mother-in-law, Julia “Agnes” Smith; brother-in-law, Mickey Smith.

Thomas was an amazing man with many talents. He loved his family dearly and adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed being on the water fishing and trawling. Thomas worked and retired from Hilcorp after many years of service as a Boat Captain/Field Operator. He was also very talented at woodworking and made many amazing crafts. He also enjoyed Cruisin’ the Coast with friends in Mississippi, traveling, and watching Nascar. Thomas will be dearly missed by his family. He is now reunited with his family who passed before him and rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
