Theresa Daigle Pontiff, 95 years of age, a lifelong resident of Terrebonne
Parish, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 with her daughter by
her side.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation at
St. Francis de Sales Cathedral on Friday, October 17, 2025 from
9:00-10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am with
burial following at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
She leaves to mourn her memory, her children Louis Jr. and wife Linda,
Keith, and Mary "Lisa" and husband Bryan Aucoin. She is also survived
by her cherished grandchildren, Vickie and husband Craig Guidry, Louis III
"Bubba" and wife Jenny, and Donnie Pontiff and fiance' Tammy Wright.
She also leaves behind her great grandchildren Matthew and wife Jessica
Guidry, Brittany and husband Esco Benton IV, Nathan Pontiff, Ella Pontiff,
Riley Pontiff, Maddux Pontiff, Layla Wright, and great great grandchildren
Cole Guidry, Brandt Guidry, Nora Grace Benton, Stella Benton, and Aria
Ward. Theresa is also survived by her cherished sister Charline and
husband Clarence Jr. "Sparky" Guidry.
Theresa is preceeded in death by her beloved husband of 74 years Louis
Pontiff Sr., her parents Harry Daigle, Mabel Fanguy Daigle Dupre, her
father who raised her Walton Dupre, sister Hazel Falgout, and infant son.
Theresa was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and St
Gregory Barbarigo Church. She was known for her quiet disposition, and
was a homemaker who excelled at sewing, crocheting, and always
enjoyed a great shopping trip. She was a doting mother and grandmother
who never missed an opportunity to provide advice to her loved ones.
The family offers special thanks to Dr. Dicky Haydel for the 50+ years of
care provided to their parents. Thanks also to Dr. Scott Haydel, Haydel
Clinic Staff, Haydel Hospice, Terrebonne General Skilled Nursing, and the
nurses of Terrebonne General, especially Nicole and Kaci, for the
outstanding care provided to their mother during her final days. The family
would also like to thank Jerone Howard for his selfless dedication and
assistance he provided to mom and dad over the years.
