Sylvia Marie Collins

Sylvia Marie Collins, age 94, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 17, 2024. She was a native of Grand Caillou, LA and a resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home in Chapel Dauphine on Friday, April 5, 2024 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Sylvia is survived by her brother, Gerald J. Collins and wife, Carol; sister, Sonja C. Babin and husband, Earl; brother-in-law, Steve Christoffersen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Camille Joseph and Elsie Bessie Fryou Collins; brothers, Camille J. Collins, Jr., Kimple J. Collins, Raphael P. Collins, and Aloysius "Al" Collins; sisters, Barbara Collins and Elaine "Maxine C. Christoffersen.

Sylvia was a personal secretary for many, many years in both New Orleans and in Houma, retiring from her last job at Tenneco La Terre in Houma. Sylvia was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all whose hearts she touched.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chateau Terrebonne Nursing Home, Dr. Dicky Haydel and staff, and the staff at Haydel Memorial Hospice.
