Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the Cathedral of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Houma, from 11am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm. The Burial will take place at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Mom was born in Birmingham, AL and spent her early years in Anniston, AL before moving to Louisiana. She attended Academy of the Sacred Heart Catholic High School where she proudly served as a cheerleader and formed countless friendships that she carried with her to college at the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. There, she met Dad and fell in love. Married at the chapel on campus in Oct 1961, she soon moved to Houma to raise a family. Mom was involved in a number of philanthropic activities including playing a very early and active role with the Louis Infant Center and the Junior Auxiliary of Houma where she impacted the lives of numerous families.

Family was at the heart of Mom's world. She cherished each gathering, each milestone, each shared laugh around a crowded table where she would often make "Sue Burgers" and endless bowls of spaghetti. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, a sanctuary where anyone could find comfort and be reminded that they mattered. Whether offering a listening ear, a place to rest, or a not-so-subtle nudge forward, Mom sincerely cared for others with a devotion that left an indelible mark.

Her love was quiet yet mighty-felt most deeply in the little things: handwritten notes of encouragement, small donations for ice cream money for her grandkids, late-night conversations, meals cooked with joy (even if a little overcooked at times), and a presence that made others feel seen and safe. She taught us that love is not measured in accomplishments but in kindness, patience, and the willingness to be there for one another.

As we say goodbye, we carry with us the lessons she lived so beautifully: to treat others with compassion, to give freely, and to treasure the people we hold close. Mom's lasting legacy is not in what she owned, but in the countless hearts she touched.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
