It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Spencer James Naquin, who left us on December 2, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in Houma, Louisiana, on December 31, 1961, Spencer was a true son of the bayou. He lived in Dulac for most of his life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Spencer was a hardworking commercial fisherman and shrimper, spending countless hours on the local waterways. He was known for his legendary sense of humor; if you ever posed a question to him, you'd likely hear his signature response, "You don't know?" He enjoyed making people laugh and often spent his free time at the casino playing video poker.
Spencer is survived by his children, Dylan, Melanie, Sierra, Shante, Spencer Jr., and Skylar; his brothers Jeryl Naquin Sr., Willard Naquin Jr., and Dwight Naquin; his caretaker Juanita Boudreaux; his cousin Christine Dupre; as well as many grandchildren and godchildren.
Spencer was preceded in death by his parents Willard Naquin and Veronica Naquin.
He will be laid to rest in our hearts, where his spirit will live on. Rest easy, Spencer; we'll see you when we see you.
