It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Serina DeHart Theriot, a beloved soul who graced our lives with love and kindness. Born on January 2, 1962, Serina departed this world on December 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and unwavering faith. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7

Serina was a remarkable woman who embodied the essence of love. A devoted wife to her husband, Danny Theriot, for an extraordinary 49 years, she nurtured a bond that was a testament to enduring partnership. Her heart overflowed with affection for her three sons, Dren Theriot and wife Kiki, Dustin Theriot and fiancé Jon, and Taylor Theriot and wife Whitney and her grandchildren and great granddaughter, who were truly the apples of her eye. To them, she imparted the wisdom of love and the joy of togetherness, creating memories that will forever be cherished. She leaves behind her loving siblings that meant the world to her, Shirley DeHart Daisy and companion Allen Marcel, Ellen Lovell and husband Vergis "Buddy", Kathy McElroy and husband George, Leslie "DeDeBoy" DeHart and wife Raelyn, and Corey DeHart and wife Robin; sister-in-law, Cheryl DeHart.

Serina is preceded in death by her parents, Morris "Myse" DeHart, Sr. and Adeline DeHart; brothers, Morris "Dukey" DeHart, Jr. and Danny DeHart, Sr.

Throughout her life, Serina was a beacon of light in her family and community. With a spirit that soared towards her Lord and Savior, she led by example, nurturing her relationships with family and friends through laughter, sharing, and countless camping adventures by the water. Whether fishing with Danny or hosting gatherings filled with stories and smiles, she made every moment special-a tapestry of connections woven with care. Serina's loving presence will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. Serina spent many years educating young minds at Dularge Middle School until her retirement. After her retirement she worked at the Terrebonne Parish Library in Dularge. She was more than a friend; she was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, confidante, and a cherished member of the community. Her genuine compassion and kindness will leave an indelible mark on the souls of many.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at Chauvin Funeral Home on Monday, December 22, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until her Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Eloi Cemetery. As we gather to celebrate a life well-lived, we invite all whose hearts were warmed by Serina's love to share in the remembrance of her remarkable journey. Though she may no longer walk among us, the love she shared will echo in our hearts, a lasting tribute to a woman who truly means the world to us all. Rest in peace, dear Serina; your spirit will forever be a cherished part of our lives.

The family would like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice, Terrebonne General Health System, and Amedisys Home Health for their love and care shown to the family and Serina
