Ryan Detiveaux

October 14, 1983 — October 31, 2021

On October 31, 2021, our beloved son, Ryan Mark Detiveaux, who recently celebrated his 38th birthday, was called home by our Heavenly Father.  Ryan was a native and resident of Houma.

Ryan graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High School and Nicholls State University.  He also attended Louisiana State University.  Ryan’s passion was his love of music, and he was a member of various music programs and drum and bugle corps. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by his family who loved him dearly and friends who knew and loved him.

Ryan was courageous as he bravely battled cancer for the last five years.  His smile, kindness and resiliency will always be remembered.  He was truly a warrior and will be sadly missed.

Family and friends of the family are invited to a visitation at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma, LA on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation beginning at 11:00am.  Burial will take place following Mass in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Lori Kinnard Detiveaux, his sisters Leah Detiveaux Hutchinson, Lani Detiveaux, his nephew Andrew Hutchinson, and his loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samuel F. Kinnard and Ezelle Luke Kinnard,  Francis J. Detiveaux and Hilda Chauvin Detiveaux.

The family would like to thank Dr. Suma Satti and staff of Benson Cancer Center at Ochsner; and Haydel Memorial Hospice for the kind and compassionate care extended to Ryan.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
