With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rosie Antoinette Rogers on May 14, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Houma, Louisiana. Born on December 27, 1938, in Terrebonne Parish, Rosie graced this world with her kindness, love, and unwavering compassion.
A devoted homemaker, she found her greatest joy in the warmth of her family, cherishing the moments spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Rosie is survived by her children, Johnny Rogers (Connie), Roxanne Fitch (Kerry), Marie Verdin, Loretta Rogers (Elliott), and Laura Ann Rogers;15 grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
Rosie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Johnny Rogers, Sr.; parents, Albert Wickliff Fitch and Louise Marie Verret; brothers, Earl and Peter Fitch; great great grandson, Isiah Fitch. Rosie had a special connection to her roots and treasured the simple pleasures of life, often found sitting outside soaking in the sounds of swamp pop music that filled the air around her.
As a proud member of the American Indian community, she embodied a spirit of resilience and warmth that touched everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Rosie's loving heart now rests alongside her beloved husband, Johnny Sr., as she embraces the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her absence creates a void that will be felt deeply by all who loved her, but her spirit will forever remain within the hearts of her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held in remembrance of Rosie on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. A public viewing will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery in Dulac, LA, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Following the Mass, a burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, where friends and family will gather to pay their final respects and celebrate the beautiful life she led.
Rosie will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will endure in the souls of all who knew her.
