Roland Smith

Roland Anthony Smith, 88, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, LA passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at 7:20AM.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM and visitation will continue at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, LA beginning at 10:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00PM. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Roland is survived by his sons, Roland J. Smith wife Lisa, and Ronnie A. Smith wife Malvine; daughter, Rhonda Smith; sister, Hilda Smith Authement; grandchildren, Roland P. Smith, Ryan Smith, Tess Dupre, Bryce Dupre; great-grandson, Brayden Smith.

Roland is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Mae Toups Smith; brothers, Nolan Smith, Houston Smith; and sister, Rita Smith Rodrigue.

Roland loved to play bingo with all his bingo buddies. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Chauvin, LA for many years.

He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather and loved to spend time with his many family and friends. Roland will never be forgotten; but always remembered and loved.
