Roland Lill

Roland Lill, age 77, a native of Germany and resident of Houma, La., passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

In loving memory of our father, Roland Lill, we reflect on the countless moments that shaped our lives with him. From motorcycle rides, ice cream outings, and rock concerts to trips to theme parks where we chased the biggest and fastest roller coasters, he filled our lives with adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Dad’s unwavering support for our science projects and his endearing attempts to master camera settings brought so much laughter and joy to our family. Our vacations together were filled with love and happiness, creating bonds that time can never break. He was deeply selfless, always making sure the people he loved knew it through his generosity, kindness, and steadfast presence.

His love for our country was evident through 28 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. That sense of patriotism became part of the legacy he passed down to future generations of our family. After retiring from military service, he continued his strong work ethic through 20 years of dedicated overnight service at Wal-Mart in Houma, Louisiana.

Above all else, his unconditional love for his children — John Lill, Brian Lill, and Christy Gautreau — and his grandchildren — Taylor Lill, Christian Lill, Lilla Gautreau, and Flynn Gautrau — was the foundation of our family.

We hold you close in our hearts, Dad and PawPaw Roland, and we will love and miss you always.

Private services will be held by the family.
