Obituary

Rita Mae Falgout, 92, a native of Chauvin, LA and a resident of Houma, LA passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Houma, LA from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at St. Gregory Church at 11:00am with burial taking place in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Rita is survived by her loving family; her children, Pam Falgout Langham (Paul) , Donna Falgout Clement (Richard Sr.), and Becky Falgout Samanie (Tony); grandchildren, Erin Jones (D.J), Dr. Lynsey Pippen (Michael), Dr. Richard Clement Jr. (Kristen), Carey Redmond (Glenn), Paul Langham IV (Courtney), Brittany Cervantes (Mike), Tara Jones (Brian), and Tori Gerald (Matthew). Rita Mae is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; half-sister, Della Blanchard.

Rita is preceded in passing by her loving husband, Carlton Falgout; parents, Wallace and Aurelia Foret Trahan; half-sister, Emma Jean Normand.

Rita traveled the world and visited many places in Europe, Asia and inside the United States. She enjoyed playing bingo, going fishing at the family camp in Cocodrie, LA and cooking many wonderful meals; including gumbo, jambalaya, and pralines .Rita was a Resident Ambassador and "life of the party" at Terrebonne Place for the past two years. Rita made friends with everybody she came into contact with, no matter what the location, and was known to everyone as Granny.

The family would like to give their sincere thanks to the staff of Terrebonne Place and Haydel Memorial Hospice for the love and support they have shown to Rita and her entire family.
