Raymond Lee Landreneau, Jr., age 70, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma LA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS.

He was known by many names, Lee to his family and friends, Raymond to his medical providers, and professionally as R.L. Landreneau, Jr. His favorite titles were husband, Dad, and Pere.

Lee is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Lynne Adams Landreneau, Children, Julie Landreneau Davis, Blake Landreneau (Emily), and Bonnie Landreneau, Grandchildren, Zachary Davis, Logan Davis, Kadey Davis, and Allie Davis, Mother, Joyce Landreneau, Sister, Aimee Landreneau-deTurk (Bill), Brother-in-law, Chip Seelig, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues, and clients.

Lee was preceded in passing by his father, Raymond Lee Landreneau, Sr., sister Suzanne Landreneau Seelig, and grandparents, Rodney and Blanche Landreneau, and Elizabeth and William Cahill.

Lee was a gentleman of many God-given talents. His favorite hobbies were fishing, crabbing, gardening, and cooking red beans and rice and macaroni and cheese for his grandchildren and friends. He was a wealth of historical knowledge and loved talking history, especially family history. Lee treasured his Cajun heritage and was a member of the Cajun French Music Association (CFMA). Lee was also a member of the Houma Elks Lodge No. 1193.

Lee was a proud graduate of St. Stanislaus College (1973), University of New Orleans (1977), and LSU School of Law (1980).

Lee was a Bankruptcy Consumer Law Specialist, certified by the Louisiana Board of Specialization and the American Board of Certification.

Lee was a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Terrebonne Parish Bar Association, a Master in the Judge Jerry A. Brown Louisiana Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), American Board of Certification (ABC), and American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). He served as a Board Member of the Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) and a past Board Member of the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Lee and his wife coordinated the Secret Santa Program for the Terrebonne Parish Bar Association for 12 Christmas seasons.

Lee was honored with the following prestigious awards: the first recipient of the Judge Jerry A. Brown Professionalism Award from the Judge Jerry A. Brown Inn of Courts, for his service to the bar, his lasting impression on the education of young lawyers, and his life of sacrifice and his knowledge, wisdom, and service to the practice of bankruptcy law; and the K. Colleen Nunnelly Award from the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) for his extraordinary contributions to NACBA and many years of invaluable service.

Lee served as a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and as a Parish Council Member at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Assistant Scout Master of Troop 490, and the Holy Name Society.

Lee's family expresses their appreciation for his care takers for their care and compassion - Mr. Ronald Short, Terrebonne Home Care, Haydel Memorial Hospice, LSU Health New Orleans ALS Clinic, Terrebonne Council on Aging and Dr. Edward Haight of the Southeast Neuroscience Center.

The family asks that those attending the services share a memory about Lee in writing. There will be a memory box at the service to collect them.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in honor of Lee on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Magnolia Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at Chauvin Funeral Home in Magnolia Chapel on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jody Babin of Bayouland Worship Center will be the officiant.

A funeral service will also be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Riemann Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian MS. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Ray Allen of Jacob's Well will be the officiant. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bay St. Louis MS.
