Paulie passed away on September 12, 2026, leaving behind a family who adored him and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, and gentle spirit. He was truly one of a kind, a simple, pure-hearted man who never met a stranger and considered everyone his friend.

Paulie is survived by his siblings, Albert Verret, Jr. (Patty), Cynthia DeHart (Jonathan), Charles Verret (Kalani), Nancy Lirette (Johnny), Michelle Lutz (Scott). He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews, Laken, Seth, Autumn, Blake, Cy, Madison, Arianne, Carter, Nicola, Kennedi, Kendrick, Adrianna, Chadalyn, Benjamin, Lincoln, Chadica; great nieces and nephews, Jeremiah, Jaiden, Jordan, Maxwell, Rowan, Alessia, Ellie, Blakelynn, Paisley, Harper, Asher, Weston and his favorite cousin, April. He is also survived by his numerous beloved cats.

Paulie was preceded in passing by his mother, Verna Mae Verdin; his sister, Letha Verret; companion, Krissy Parfait.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in honor of Paulie on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Magnolia Chapel, from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Chauvin Funeral Home in Magnolia Chapel, beginning at 10:00a.m. until the Funeral Service at 12:00p.m. Paulie will be laid to rest following his services in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

The love of Paulie's life was his cats. He often joked that his cats made better sisters than his sisters, a remark that never failed to make those around him laugh. He always had a story to tell and could keep a conversation going for hours with his unique perspective on life and his wonderful sense of humor.

Paulie especially loved picking on his nieces and nephews, a pastime they lovingly endured because they knew it was his way of showing affection. In return, they loved him dearly and will forever cherish the advice, wisdom, and life lessons he eagerly shared whenever he had the chance. He wanted the best for those he loved and never missed an opportunity to guide and encourage them.

He loved his momma with all his heart and was deeply devoted to his family. Seeing those he loved upset or hurting was something he could never bear. Paulie had no idea what an enemy was because he simply believed everyone was a friend. He was the purest and kindest soul, always seeing the good in people and remaining genuinely grateful for every kindness that was ever shown to him. His appreciation for others never went unnoticed.

Paulie found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved his lawnmower and scooter and took pride in caring for them. He enjoyed tinkering with radios, lawnmowers, and just about anything he could take apart and put back together. His curiosity and hands-on nature kept him busy and brought him great satisfaction. His taste in music was as eclectic as his personality, and he enjoyed a wide variety of songs that reflected his unique spirit.

One place that brought Paulie endless excitement was Walmart. To him, a trip there was like a visit to Disney World. He would light up at the thought of going, enjoying every moment and finding happiness in the simplest adventures.

More than anything, Paulie will be remembered for his loving heart, gratitude, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. His stories, laughter, kindness, and gentle nature made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his absence leaves an immense void, his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his love, compassion, and friendship.

Paulie's legacy is not found in grand achievements, but in the simple goodness with which he lived his life every day. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, family member, and friend whose pure spirit will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
