Paul Roland Luke, 96, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 3:20pm. Paul was a native and resident of Houma, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to a visitation on Thursday September 17, 2026 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma, LA from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 18, 2026 at 11:00am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Paul Roland is survived by his loving family his children, Christine Luke Matherne and husband Dave S. Matherne Sr., Gary Luke and wife Mela; brothers, Sherill Luke, Patrick Luke, Willis Luke Jr., grandchildren, Gina Matherne Jackson, Mandy Matherne Overstreet, Dave Matherne Jr., Blane Pellegrin, Peggy Pellegrin Dean, Stephanie Luke Forister, Tonya Luke, Vova Luke; nineteen loving great grandchildren, and ten loving great-great grandchildren.
Paul Roland is preceded in passing by his loving wife of seventy-four years, Jeanette Boudreaux Luke; parents, Willis Luke Sr. and Mabel Boudreaux Luke; daughter, Brenda Luke Pellegrin; brother, Floyd Luke; sisters, Jane Luke Neal, and Mary Luke Kraemer; and great grandson, Officer Justin Taylor Billa.
Paul Roland was a proud veteran of the United State Army (serving 1951-1953).
When he was not working at Texaco, which he worked for thrity-one years before his retirement, he enjoyed trawling and fishing at every chance he could get. He loved to make trawl nets and pirogues. He also enjoyed helping at Holy Rosary serving in multiple duties such as usher, money-counter, cooking for the Bunk House, volunteering at the Food Bank, working on the "H" (for Holy) Team at Holy Rosary; and working many fairs and other duties within the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Haydel Memorial Hospice for all their guidance, comfort, and compassion in his end of life journey. God Bless all that they do.
