We announce the passing of Paris Joseph Broussard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Paris was Born in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana, on May 27, 1932. He lived a plentiful life characterized by hard work, family, love of the outdoors, and entrepreneurship. Paris peacefully departed on September 13, 2026, at the age of 94.

Paris is survived by his brother Huby Broussard, daughter Millicent "Millie" Bourgeois (William "Bill"), his two grandchildren Jeffrey Bourgeois (Ana Nieto) and Erin Bourgeois Gros, and his companion Carolyn Raby. Paris is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Theresa Hebert Broussard, as well as his brother Lobert Broussard, and his son Keith Broussard.

Paris was born near Abbeville, LA to Clovis and Elva (Touchet) Broussard and grew up on Pecan Island farming Rice with his parents and brothers. The family later moved their farm to Gibson where Paris built a homestead with his wife, Theresa. He began his career as a tradesman and electrician in the shipyards out of Morgan City, LA which led to a business opportunity where he founded Bruce Boat Rentals Inc. in Gibson, LA. The company operated successfully for decades offering commercial crew boat and hot shot boat services for the Oil and Gas industry until his retirement.

Paris and Theresa were the proud parents of two children, Millie and Keith, and were an immense part of the lives of their two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Erin, who they adored more than anything. Later in life, Paris was loved by his great-grandchildren, Jax and Gavin and his companion, Carolyn Raby.

Throughout his life, Paris was an inspiringly hard worker who loved the outdoors. His hunting trips which included deer, Dove, Quail, Pheasant, and wild turkey brought him great joy, as did his farm where he bred, raised, and trained Appaloosa show horses. Paris placed in many regional and world competitions which began with an Appaloosa stallion named Cherry Leo and culminated with the national champion, French Legacy.

In his pastime Paris loved watching western movies, sports, and cheering for The Saints. He was a true cowboy and a gentleman whose charm could light up a room with just a wink and a smile. He was and is an inspiration to many. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

Funeral services for Paris Joseph Broussard will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Chauvin Funeral Home. The public visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Gibson
