Pamela Mary Lausen

December 15, 1947 — April 1, 2026

Pamela Lausen, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Thibodaux, Louisiana. In her true fashion, full of storytelling and a sense of humor, Pamela chose to make her exit on April Fools' Day. Born on December 15, 1947, in Napa, California, Pamela lived a life rich in love, creativity, and cherished family traditions.

Pamela's artistry as a baker was revered by many, as she brought joy to countless individuals through her exquisite cakes and pastries. Her talent flourished not only in her home but within the kitchens of various casinos, where she shared her passion for baking and taught others the joy and science behind the craft she loved. There was nothing she couldn't make, and her remarkable skills left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to sample her creations.

She was more than just a baker; she was a master storyteller. Inspired by the tales spun by her father around the campfire, Pamela beautifully continued that oral tradition, captivating family and friends with her narratives. Never one to be overlooked, she had a way of filling a room, not just with her presence, but with her wit and unmistakable perspective on life. She could make you laugh when you didn't expect it and even when you didn't want to.

For the past six years, she carried a deep ache after losing the love of her life, her husband Leslie Howard Lausen. And now, six years and six days later, her family finds comfort in knowing she is finally reunited with him.

Pamela's love story with Leslie began after he returned from serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Their 50 years of marriage were filled with unwavering support, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they built a life that included their three sons, Michael, Brian, and Andrew, as well as their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.

In 2004, Pamela and Leslie settled in Louisiana, where they established several businesses showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to their community.

Pamela's will to survive right up to the very end was nothing short of extraordinary. Watching her fight, endure, and continue on when it would have been easier not to was a true blessing to witness firsthand. That strength is something her family will carry with them always.

Her love for Jesus was deep and unwavering, and if there was one thing she wanted to leave behind, it was the truth she held onto so tightly: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16. That was her legacy, faith, hope, and the promise of being reunited again.

She loved deeply, even when life was complicated, and she carried more than most ever saw. And through it all, she remained uniquely, unapologetically herself.

Pamela is survived by her sons Michael Lausen (Kelli), Brian Lausen, and Andrew Lausen; her grandchildren Marissa Lausen, Shawnee Romero, Destin Lausen, Liam Lausen, Elijah Lausen, Trace Townsend, Andrew Townsend, Alora Sunn, Kristen Bergren, Luciana Lausen, and Francesa Lausen; and her great-grandchildren Autumn Lausen, Jayse and Aylee Romero.

Pamela was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leslie Howard Lausen and her parents Edward Merle Casey and Mary Elizabeth Enyart Casey.

Private funeral services will be held to honor Pamela's extraordinary life. While her loved ones will miss her dearly, they are celebrating the reunion they know she longed for as well as her legacy full of personality, laughter, and love.
