O'Neal Foret, Sr.

O'Neal Peter Foret, Sr., age 79, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 30, 2021. He was a native and resident of Chauvin, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, August 8, 2021, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, August 9, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with burial following in church cemetery.

O'Neal is survived by his sons, O'Neal P., Jr. (Leslie), Teddy J. (Marie), Corey J. (Christine), Harvey J., Craig A. (Keisha), and Tommy P. Foret; daughters, Janet F. (Audy) Chauvin, Mavis F. (Brian), Hollie F. (Johnny Jr.), and Sue F. (Devon); 24 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

O'Neal is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Waidle Ann Smith Foret; son, Fred M. Foret; parents, Eugene Ernest and Josephine Marie Blanchard Foret; brothers, Harold Sr., Eulan, Junius, Gervis, Loney, and Leroy Sr. Foret and Clarence Sr. and Lawrence Authement; sisters, Eula Foret, Dorita F. Pierron, Odelia F. Sevin, Florence F. Chauvin, Helen A. Naquin, Helena Forest, Noticia Bunker, Beatrice F. Gisclair, Ouida F. LeCompte, Maggie Foret, and Hattie Foret.

O'Neal was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a member of the Ward 7 Citizens Club. He enjoyed riding his bike, following his son’s band, and spending time with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched
