Norris Ledet

Norris Joseph Ledet, age 88, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 4:53 pm. He was a native of Houma and a resident of Bayou Blue, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 beginning at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday, April 6, 2018 beginning at 8:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Norris is survived by his wife, Barbara Boudreaux Ledet; daughters, Linda L. Melancon and husband, Barry, Noreen L. Mott and husband, Roy, and Penny L. Marcel and husband, Jeffrey; son-in-law, Arthur Durocher; brother, Reynold "Palooka" Ledet and wife, Geraldine, Leroy "Yert" Ledet and wife, Thelma; sister, Adeline Ledet and Earline L. Bergeron; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Norris is preceded in death by his parents, Israel and Olinda Deroche Ledet; daughter, Dianna L. Durocher; brothers, Leonce "Neg", Paul "Bafore", Raymond "B.B.", and James Ledet; sister, Mary Ledet; grandson, Brandon Durocher.

Norris was parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He retired from McDermott after 30 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, trawling, and working in the yard. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
