Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nerville "Bill" Antoine Billiot, who left this world peacefully on September 5, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on July 28, 1936, in Houma, Louisiana, Nerville lived his entire life as a proud member of the American Indian community and exemplified the values of hard work, dedication, and love for family.

Bill was married to the love of his life, Gloria Billiot, for 65 beautiful years. Together, they built a life rich with shared passions, such as dancing the night away to the vibrant sounds of Cajun music, particularly the melodies of Vin Bruce, and exploring the wonders of the local zoo. Their love story was one of companionship and joy, and it was reflected in the warmth of their life together.

Bill is survived by his wife Gloria LeBoeuf Billiot; daughters, Sonya Jeblonski (Mark) and Rachel Sanders (Kevin); grandchildren, Brock and Edie; siblings, Jimmy Billiot, Charles Billiot, and Theresa O'Rourke.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Aimee Billiot; siblings, Eunice Leaverton, Eula Trosclair, Herbert Billiot, Mitchel Billiot.

As a lineman with SLECA, Bill devoted many years of his life to serving his community. His strong work ethic and unwavering commitment were apparent in the countless ice storms and hurricanes he bravely faced to restore electricity and comfort to those around him. This dedication not only highlighted his professional life but also underscored his deep love for his community.

Bill cherished his family dearly, taking immense pride in his two grandchildren. He also found joy in tending to his vegetable garden, nurturing it with the same care he bestowed upon his loved ones. His remarkable spirit, coupled with his gentle demeanor, will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Mass will be held in Bill's honor at the Holy Rosary Church on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. As we gather to celebrate his life, we reflect on the indelible mark he made on our hearts and the beautiful memories that will forever remain. He will be missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories we share and the love we hold for him.
