In Loving Memory of Michael Joseph Hebert
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Hebert, a beloved husband, skilled welder, and devoted family man. He peacefully departed from this world on November 5, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving behind a legacy of love, memories, and countless lives touched.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, November 10, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Ann Catholic Church on Saturday with visitation from 9:00 a.m until 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. and burial to follow at the church cemetery.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Shirlene Guidry Hebert; son, Kevin Hebert, Sr. and companion Tracey Ledet; daughter, Kellie Cantrelle and husband Robbie Cantrelle; grandchildren, Kevin Jr. and companion Brandy, Kelsey, Alexia, Stephanie Hebert, Baillie and Colbie Cantrelle; great grandchildren, Paisley and Aubrie Hebert; brothers, Carol and Wallace Jr. Hebert.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Hebert, Sr. and Lois LeBoeuf Hebert; brother, Ronald Hebert.
Born on June 30, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Michael was a proud son of his hometown. He grew up immersed in the rich culture and traditions on the bayou, cultivating a strong work ethic and a passion for the art of welding. With his dexterity and expertise, he became a master welder, known for his meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Throughout his life, Michael found peace and joy in the simple pleasures. Whether it was fashioning cast nets or tying intricate flies, he took pride in his handiwork. A true outdoorsman, he delighted in spending his days fishing and hunting, cherishing the peaceful moments shared with nature. Yet, one of his greatest joys was found within the company of his loved ones.
For 45 beautiful years, Michael was a pillar of strength and unconditional love to his wife, Shirlene. Their bond was unwavering, built on a foundation of trust, support, and unwavering commitment. Together, they weathered life's ups and downs, creating cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those they left behind.
Family was at the core of Michael's being. He treasured the moments spent in his truck, cruising down familiar roads, sharing stories and laughter with his loved ones. Whether it was gathering at the camp, engaging in heartfelt conversations, or creating new memories, Michael's love and warmth radiated, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Adding to his rich tapestry of life experiences, Michael also dedicated himself to his work on the Tugboat, where he displayed his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. Known for his dependability and reliability, he was respected by his colleagues, leaving an indelible impression on all who crossed his path.
As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, we take comfort in the enduring love and memories he leaves behind. Michael Joseph Hebert was a gentle soul, a loyal partner, a talented craftsman, and a devoted family man. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
