Mary Concetta Rattina Wernig, age 96, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018. She was a native of Patterson, NJ and a resident of Houma, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church beginning at 9:00 am until a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be held in St. Francis #2 Cemetery.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary W. Breerwood and husband, Glen; grandchildren, Aaron, Craig and wife, Heather, Aimee, Glen Paul and wife, Jessica, Christopher, David, and Joseph Breerwood; great-grandchildren, Adam, Allison, Eric, Gianna, Cassia, Keelie, and Daniel Breerwood.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Major Gordon Michael Wernig; parents, Angelo and Mary Dora Padula Rattina; son, Michael A. Wernig; brother, Angelo Rattina; sister, Rose Gardiner.
Mary was an Army dependent wife. She traveled with her husband. She was a Red Cross volunteer, a member of the Officer’s Wives Club at Eglin Air Force Base, and was an expert bingo player. She was a realtor. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to the staff of the homestead, her sitters Irma, Tina, April, and Liz and Haydel Memorial Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
