Mary Sevin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Sevin, affectionately known as Marylene, who departed this world on April 23, 2026, at the age of 71. Born in the town of Houma, Louisiana, on July 5, 1954, Marylene embodied love, kindness, and a spirited resilience that touched the lives of all who crossed her path.

Marylene is survived by her Godchild, Courtney Collins; nieces Melanie Boudreaux, Traina Voisin (Jéan), Joanie Liner (Wade); nephew, Charles Boudreaux, Jr.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Fragius Sevin and Ayola Sevin; sister, Learine Boudreaux (Charles Boudreaux, Sr.); niece/godchild, Stacy Boudreaux; and her loving fur babies.

A devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marylene found joy in the sanctuary of her faith and the warmth of her church family. She was not only a nurturer in her role as a caregiver for many years, but she also cherished her own family fiercely, creating a tapestry of love that will forever hold them close. In her spare time, Marylene found solace in the simple joys of life. Whether it was tending to her garden, embarking on adventures through travel, losing herself in the pages of a good book, or piecing together intricate puzzles, her spirit radiated warmth and light. Marylene leaves behind a legacy of compassion, reflection, and selflessness. She prayed for many and touched countless lives with her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to others. Her absence will be felt profoundly by all who knew her, yet we take comfort in the gift of her life and the many lives she enriched. Anyone who knew her well, knew she loved her cats and found a companionship with them.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the church cemetery. As we say our farewell, let us remember Marylene's unwavering faith and the joy she brought into the world.

May she rest in peace, enveloped in eternal glory with our heavenly Father, forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank Chateau Terrebonne, Haydel Memorial Hospice, godchild Courtney and friend Nancy Collins for their love and care.

Chauvin Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the Sevin Family.
