It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marthalene Ann Brunet, a beloved mother, grandmother, and member of the community. Born on August 24, 1942, in Houma, LA, Marthalene passed away on July 7, 2024, at her home in Pointe-Aux-Chenes, LA at the age of 81.

Marthalene was known for her strength of character, unwavering love for her family, and her passion for sewing and tending to her beautiful flower garden. As a dedicated parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, she found solace and community in her faith.

She is survived by her loving children, Jeremy Brunet (Alice), Joshua Brunet (Kelli), Rebecca Dardar (Thomas), Jill Falgout (Stephen) who will cherish her memory forever. Marthalene will also be remembered fondly by her grandchildren, Shannon Brunet, Alexis Naquin, Angelica Billiot, Cody Brunet, Seth Brunet, Sadie Brunet, Gabe Dardar, Alex Dardar, Eric Naquin, Jessica Dardar, Jena Chauvin, Elisea Falgout and 15 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life; brother, Blair Dupre (Connie); sister-in-law, Shirley Dupre.

Marthalene is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Gabriel Norman Brunet; parents, Wickliff and Clothilde Dupre; special friend, Roland Liner; siblings, Easton Dupre (Allerie), Kent Dupre, Kenneth Dupre, Ernest Dupre, Mary Ann Naquin (Elmore), Deanna Dupre; grandaughter, Tillie Brunet, grandson, Kullin Brunet; son-in-law, Alexander "T-Lec" Billiot, Jr.

A visitation in honor of Marthalene Ann Brunet will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Pointe-Aux-Chenes on Monday, July 15, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

As we gather to celebrate Marthalene's life and legacy, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her late husband, Norman, in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
