Mark Steib, Jr.

Mark James Steib, Jr., age 87, passed away Wednesday May 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Vacherie, La and longtime resident of Houma, La.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation Friday May 21, 2021 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery #2.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, “Honey” Barbara (Bobbie) Olivier Steib; sons, Randall Steib and Mary Gueniot, James Steib and wife Shawna, Travis Steib; grandchildren, Jordan Steib, Erica and husband Zachary Lirette, Evan and wife Samantha Steib, Braelynn Steib; great-grandchildren, Alana and Jude Lirette; sister, Marcella Avonda; and close friends, Edwin and June Allemand, C.J. and Donna St. Germaine.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Mark James Steib, Sr. and Irene Delatte Steib; daughter in law, Vickie Arceneaux Steib; grandson, Christopher Steib; and his two baby daughters, Terrell and Angel Steib.

Mark was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, fishing and watching LSU, Saints, and the Pelicans. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from ATT after 40 years of service. Mark was a member of The Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, and American Legion. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to give thanks to Terrebonne General Medical staff, especially his nurses, Nikki and Blythe.
