Marilyn Catherine Pitre

July 18, 1925 — March 17, 2022

Marilyn Catherine St. Pierre Pitre, 96, a native of Destrehan, LA and resident of Houma, LA, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 17, 2022.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Richard Pitre, Sr. (Donna), Wade Pitre (Carly Jo), Glen Pitre (Tanya), and Jeanie Pitre Voisin (Bryant); grandchildren, Marchella Callais, April Benoit, Richard Pitre, Jr., Caitlin Pitre, Cade Pitre, Luke Pitre, Erin Pitre, Travis Pitre, Madison Pitre, and Nicholas Voisin; great-grandchildren, Kirk, Luke, Chase, Megan, Emily, Liza, Michaela, Declan, and Jessa; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Jerry John Pitre; her parents, George Harry and Effie Duhe St. Pierre; her son, Craig Pitre; siblings, Mildred Bourgoyne, Elaine Smith, Isabelle Callahan, Donald St. Pierre, Arnold St. Pierre, and Harry St. Pierre.

Marilyn, an entertainer at heart, was a proud musician capable of playing several instruments, including the drums and violin. Many of her younger days were spent enthusiastically drumming in the Terrebonne High School band. On occasion, she played the drums in a band with her father, George Harry St. Pierre, who was also a noted musician and music teacher. Also, fondly remembered as a comedian, she found joy in making people laugh. She was truly unique and often referred to as one of a kind.

Marilyn will be remembered for being thoughtful, kind and always willing to help her family when they needed her. She is loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know her.
