Marilyn Salzmann Beach, 89, passed away on Wednesday morning April 22, 2026 at 5:30am. Marily was a long time resident of Prophetstown, IL and a current resident of Houma, LA.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation and celebration of life at Grace Lutheran Church in Houma, LA on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 9:00am until service time at 10:00am. Services will conclude after the 10:00am Liturgy.
Marilyn survived by her loving family; her children, Amy Huycke (Mark), Penny Cuneo (Bret), Edward Beach (Jonn); son-in-law, Jason Lipner; sisters, Janet Olson, Joy Hadley (Bob); grandchildren, Samantha Riddels (Grayson), Sydney Hannah (Dallas), Connor Cuneo (Cassidy), Hannah Sonnier (Brennan), Jordan Lipner, Destiny Lipner, Savannah Lipner; great-grandchildren, Grisham, Callen and Walt Riddels, Hayes, Hart and Henrietta Hannah.
Marilyn is preceded in passing by her loving husband, Burt Beach; parents, Leslie Ernst Salzmann and Mable Henrietta Meyer Salzmann; daughters, Pamela Ann Beach and Melody Beach Lipner; sister, Ruth Salzmann Stockton; brother, LaVern Salzmann; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was an active member of Grace Lutheran and First Lutheran Churches. She was a home extension member and volunteer as Terrebonne United Food Bank in St. Bernadette School. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
She was a registered nurse. She started her career at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago, IL and KSB Hospital in Dixon, IL. After raising her children, she returned to the nursing field and worked as a geriatric nurse at a nursing home in Prophetstown, IL.
Marilyn also enjoyed playing dominos with her beloved friends. She enjoyed knitting, and was an incredible baker and above all she enjoyed her family.
She loved going to Shady Acres Senior Center.
In liue of flowers, donations to be considered to Grace Lutheran Church in Houma, LA, Kidney Cancer Association, and American Diabetes Association.
The family would like to give thanks and their appreciation for the care given by the staff of Haydel Memorial Hospice, the staff of Heritage Manor of Houma, and her many friends at Grace Lutheran, and all the friends she met throughout her life.
