Obituary

Marie Jeanette DuBois, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on September 19, 1938, in Dulac, Louisiana, Marie led a life filled with love, devotion, and cherished moments with her family.

A lifelong resident of Dulac, Marie was known for her nurturing spirit and unwavering support for her loved ones. As a dedicated homemaker, she found joy in creating a warm and welcoming home. Marie was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Holy Family Catholic Church, where she connected deeply with her community. She loved playing cards, relishing friendly competition, and the laughter shared over the table. A doting grandmother, she treasured time spent with her granddaughter Amy and great-grandchildren, Hunter and Savannah.

Marie is survived by her son, Peter Raymond DuBois (Eva); her brothers, Eulan Joseph Pellegrin (Karen), Adrian Pellegrin (Beth), and Terry Paul Pellegrin (Sandra); her sister Romona Pellegrin LaCroix; and numerous nieces and nephews who held her close to their hearts. She will be dearly missed by her beloved dogs, Precious, Petey, and Ritz, who brought her much joy.

Preceding her in death were her devoted husband, Pierre Raymond DuBois; her parents Charles Joseph Pellegrin and Justilia Avet Pellegrin; her daughter Lori Ann DuBois; her brother Charles Joseph Pellegrin Jr.; and former daughters-in-law Brenda F. DuBois and Cynthia Ann DuBois.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Marie's life at a visitation on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM in Chauvin Funeral Home's Magnolia Chapel followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Heritage Manor and St. Joseph Hospice for the compassion, comfort, and support they provided Marie.

In honoring Marie's memory, let us remember her kindness and the warmth she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will continue to cherish the legacy of love she leaves behind.
