Marian Domangue Weisheit passed on peacefully in her home on November 12, 2025 at the age of 85. The love of her life, her husband, Eddie, was faithfully at her side, just as he had been every day of their 61- year marriage. They were surrounded by their children and family as she entered eternal rest.
Marian was born on December 7, 1939 to her loving parents, Gervais and Adele Domangue. She was one of nine children and enjoyed a wonderful childhood. Marian got her strong work ethic from her father and love of cooking from her mother.
A proud 1957 graduate of Terrebonne High School, she served as a cheerleader, managed the basketball team, and received the Senior Class Outstanding Citizens Award. Her dedication to her classmates continued for over 50 years as an active member of her high school reunion planning committee.
She went on to attend college in Nevada for a year before returning to Houma. Marian and Eddie began dating after working together in the Young Christian Workers (YCW) in 1960 and were married in 1964. They were loving parents of the 4 K's: Karl, Keri, Keith, and Kelly.
She and Eddie were founding members and lifelong parishioners of Annunziata Catholic Church since its inception in 1963. Marian dedicated her life to the parish, serving in many capacities including marriage preparation, religious education, youth director, lector, Eucharistic Minister, Altar Society, and church secretary. For her tireless efforts, she was the recipient of the prestigious Bishop's Award.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Adele and Gervais Domangue, and her family: Clayton and Mona Domangue, Earl Domangue, Gary and Catherine Domangue, Carl Domangue, Richard Domangue, Ramona and Millard Lirette, and Joe Cogliati.
In addition to her husband Eddie, Marian is survived by their four children and their spouses: Karl Weisheit (Jena), Keri Weisheit Landrieu (Maurice), Keith Weisheit (Melanie), and Kelly Weisheit Smith (Jake). She also leaves a rich legacy through her 11 grandchildren: LeAnne Robson (Jeff), KJ Weisheit (Brittany), Jonathan Weisheit (Blakelee), Melanie Straughan (Mason), Kristen Landrieu, Ashley Landrieu, Katie Gaiennie (Joe), Adam Landrieu (Molly), James Riche, Ava Smith, and Jackson Smith; and her 7 precious great-grandchildren (with four more on the way): Declan and Oliver Robson; Walker, Beckham, and Hollyn Weisheit; Maverick Weisheit; and Parker Straughan. She is survived by her sisters, Elaine Cogliati, Gail Michel and sister-in-law Cookie Domangue.
Marian possessed a profound joy for life that resonated with everyone she touched. Her spirit found expression in the simple pleasures: her love of gardening, the camaraderie of bowling, and the rhythm of music.
She was an ever-optimistic, die-hard Saints fan and a Mardi Gras loving dancing queen! Marian was a high school cheerleader who remained the ultimate cheerleader for her family and friends throughout her life.
She absolutely cherished her nieces, nephews, her expansive "adopted" family and friends as if they were her own. Regardless of when or where your paths crossed, she welcomed you into her life and held you close to her heart. Whatever you called her-Sugar, Mom, Grammy, Aunt Marian, Aunt Bundy, or simply friend-she was a constant source of loving support to all. Her warmth and enthusiasm will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at Annunziata Catholic Church in Houma from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Monday, November 17, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM.
