Join Us As We Honor A Man Whose Life Was A Testament to Grace, Perseverance, and Heart.
Today, we honor Lupe Valdiviez, born December 16, 1958, in Houma, Louisiana. A man who faced deep struggles and hardships from the very beginning of life, yet through every challenge, he carried a giving spirit and a selfless heart. If he had his last, he would give it.
As a father of five and grandfather of ten, his love never stopped flowing. His life was deeply rooted in music and family. He was a professional vocalist for the past 41 years with such bands as Treater, Southern Fancy, Nothing Fancy, Clearwater, Late Night, and Lupe. A gifted singer, he graced countless stages and shared his talent alongside many musicians whose lives he touched along the way.
He had a deep love for the bayou and the water—shrimping, fishing, and simply being on the water brought him great peace. He also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, especially his love for food and his well-known habit of having milk with every meal, which always brought a smile.
He never hesitated to sing anywhere, for anyone, at any time. Music was not just what he did—it was who he was.
Today, we celebrate his victory in Christ. He is with God—at peace, whole, and free.
Dad, your sacrifice, your music, and your heart will never be forgotten. We love you, and we know the victory is yours. Thank you, Jesus, for his life.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31
