Loveless “L.J.” Joseph Gautreaux

January 26, 1948 — April 29, 2022

 Loveless “L.J.” Joseph Gautreaux, 74, passed away on the evening of Friday, April 29, 2022 at 4:35pm. L.J. was a native of Chauvin, LA and a resident of Houma, LA. 

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at St. Joseph Church in Chauvin, LA from 10:00am to service time on Thursday, May 5, 2022.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin following visitation at St. Joseph Church for 12:00pm.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

L.J. is survived by his loving family; his sons, Francis Rodrigue and wife Linda, Michael Rodrigue and wife Wendy, Anthony “A.J.” Rodrigue; daughter, Therese Scott and husband Ronnie; sister, Bernadine Nelton; grandchildren, Rochelle, Beth, Amy, Stacy, Sarah, Eric, John, Greg, and Jill; and twelve great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew, three stepchildren.

L.J. is preceded in death by his first loving wife, Kathleen Scioneaux Gautreaux; second loving wife, Rosanna Price Gautreaux; parents, Lovely Gautreaux and Medelia Trahan Gautreaux; sister, Virginia Gautreaux Constrantiche; brother-in-law, Ernest Constrantiche; daughter-in-law, Susan Portier Rodrigue; grand-daughter, Pamela Rodrigue.

L.J. Worked for Texaco for many years.  He then built his trawling boats and began trawling for thirty years to support his family.  After which he sold his boats and began working for United Diesel, and Spartan; where he made his retirement.

L.J. served his community many years. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus “5013”.  He loved to watch the Saints, LSU, and football. He enjoyed watching his old cowboy movies.

The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Henry, Haydel Memorial Hospice; Nurse Patty Voss and McKinzie “Kinzly”, Mr. Joe and Dianne Talamo.
