Lois Sevin Eschete, 97, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 2:40 pm. Lois was a native of Chauvin, LA and a resident of Bourg, LA.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, LA from 9:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 11:00 am with burial in the church cemetery.
Lois is survived by her loving family; her children, Joan Dryden (Elmer), Linda McMath (David), Dwayne Eschete (Lynn Ann); sister, Joyce Savin; grandchildren, John Dryden (Christina), Erica Eschete (Floyd), Michelle Allen (Greg), Tesia Smith (Chad), and Marissa Nugent (Jeffrey); great grandchildren; Andrew "Cody" Dryden (Brittany), Thomas "Austin" Dryden (Maci), Daniel "Sheridan" Dryden (Jerilyn), Rylan Eschete, Reis Eschete, Robbie Mills, Dryden Mills, Raegan Hardisty (Katie), Kaeley Allen, Tanner Smith, and Mollie Grace Nugent; great-great grandchildren, Tucker, Beau, Mason, and Laynie Dryden.
Lois is preceded in passing by her loving husband of fifty-five years Erous Eschete; parents, Wilson and Julien Henry Sevin; infant son, Eric Eschete; brothers, Houston Sevin, Ulan Sevin, and Wilkinson Sevin.
She dedicated many years as an educator with Terrebonne Parish School Board, where she touched the lives of countless students and families through her kindness, patience, and devotion to education.
A devoted parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church, her faith was the foundation of her life and guided the love and compassion she shared with everyone around her.
She was a member of the Kaycee Auxiliary, Woodmen Life, and the American Legion Auxiliary, where she formed many lasting friendships.
She was deeply rooted in family traditions and cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride.
Her pastime was spending time at the family camp, fishing alongside her husband and loved ones. Those treasured moments on the water created memories that will live on for generations.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Suites of Sugar Mill Point and ACG Hospice for the compassionate care, comfort, and support provided to her and the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Lois' life to St. Ann Catholic Church Maintenance Fund.
