Lois Bourg Darcey, 83, a resident of Houma, LA and a native of Montegut, LA passed away on July 27, 2026 at 2:15 am surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 23,1942 to her parents Whitney and Josephine Bourg.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Louis David Darcey, daughter, Amy Elizabeth Darcey (Samantha), her beloved and only grandson, Dominick Joseph Darcey, and her beloved fur-baby, Coco Chanel Gabrielle Darcey (affectionately known as “Gabby”.)
Lois was preceded in death by her parents Whitney and Josephine Bourg, brother’s, Norris and Jerry Bourg and Sister’s Doris LeBlanc and Hilda Bouquet, and her fur-baby Sophia Petrillo Darcey (affectionately known as Sophie.)
Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She was a 15 year colon cancer survivor. Lois was a self taught seamstress who could take any idea presented to her and bring it to life. She sewed many homecoming, prom and wedding dresses throughout the years and accumulated a vast collection of sewing machines. Lois was a chef in her own right and enjoyed cooking 5-star meals for her family and friends. Anything she had at a restaurant she always said “I can make it better!” She did! She is most known for her Crawfish Bisque, Oysters Bienville, and baked fish. She loved to work in her flowerbed of Amaryllis plants and cut her emerald green yard on level 5 cause it just looked better that way. She enjoyed swinging on her porch swing with Gabby for hours on end, listening to music on her glider rocker in her front room, and shopping on Amazon (we are sure the delivery driver misses her too.)
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. till time of the Funeral Liturgy at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Lois to Toys for Tots -Terrebonne.
The family would like to thank their family friend, Rebecca Ford for helping care for her weeks prior to her passing. A special thank you is to be given to her daughter-in-law, Samantha for helping care for her medically and keeping her comfortable till she returned to her heavenly father.
