With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kurt Adam Marcel, affectionately known as "Doo-Doo" was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, who departed this world on August 27, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on February 13, 1943, in Houma, Louisiana, Kurt led a life rich with experiences, grounded in simple joys and dedicated work.

He leaves behind one daughter, Tonia Falgout and companion Brad Scott, grandchildren; Keith and wife Breezie Falgout, Gauge Marcel and Joshua Falgout, great grandchildren; Breonna and Kingston Falgout, sister; Alice Clark, numerous nieces and nephews; and the fur babies; Scooby Doo and Princess. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Eva-Jean of 22 years, former wife of 24 years and the mother of his children, Geneva Schouest Marcel, sons; Scott and Timothy Marcel, parents, Sullivan and Louise Molaison Marcel, brothers; Russell, Junel, Louis, and Norman Marcel; and sisters, Ethel Babin, Hazel Flice, Louise Porche and Rita Mae Porche.

Kurt devoted 39 years of his life to working as a Dredge Line Operator for J. Ray McDermott. Known for his strong work ethic, he approached every challenge with determination and pride. Even after his retirement, he remained passionate about caring for the vibrant parrots and lovebirds that brought him joy in his later years.

In addition to his commitment to his profession and his love for animals, Kurt was also a beacon of hope for many, dedicating himself to the noble cause of blood donation throughout his life. His selflessness saved countless lives, exemplifying the kind of man he was and always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation in honor of Kurt's remarkable life on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church beginning at 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the mass at St. Francis De Sales Cemetery #2.
