Kirby F. Rhodes, II

Kirby F. Rhodes, II, age 65, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 14, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native and resident of Houma, La.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue Friday, December 19, 2025 at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Kirby is survived by his wife of 46 years, Tessie Rhodes; son, Kirby Rhodes, III and wife, Socorro; grandchildren, Madison Bernard, Riley Rhodes, Drew Rhodes; brother, Gene Paul Rhodes and wife, Sally; godchild, Chris Rhodes and wife, Brandy; nephews, Corey Rhodes and wife, Alyssa, Cade Rhodes and wife, Aimee.

Kirby is preceded in death by his parents, Kirby F. Rhodes, Sr. and Jenny Rhodes Cotton; step-father, Curtis Cotton; niece, Katie Lynn Rhodes.

Kirby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend known for his unwavering kindness and generosity.

Renowned for his skills as a master carpenter, Kirby had a passion for building and spent countless hours in his shop, crafting creations that reflected his talent and dedication. He loved teaching others and passing down his knowledge of the trade, touching the lives of many along the way.

His contributions to the Boy Scouts as a high-ranking Eagle Scout were a source of pride; he was honored in the Boy Scout Museum in New Orleans, a testament to his commitment to shaping the next generation.

Kirby was not just a hardworking individual; he was a family man at heart. He cherished the moments spent with his loving wife, Tessie, and treasured time with his grandchildren. Kirby found joy in the great outdoors, indulging in his passions for hunting and fishing, as well as creating lasting memories through family travels.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
