It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Gale Rice, who left this world on March 13, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on July 7, 1959, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Judy lived a life full of love, creativity, and compassion, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Robert Rice; children, Michael Rice, Victoria Rice, Henry Rice, Matthew Rice, Dolores Nation, Ashley Firestone, Robert Rice, Jr., Rebekah Rice; George Arthur Davis IV; grandchildren, Emily Sullivan, Raeann Rice, Mason Rice, Sydera Rice, Daxton Rice, Isabella Blanchard, Nola Blanchard, Nia Firestone, Liam Rice, Aiden Davis and Autumn Davis; siblings, George Davis, III and Patricia Davis; as well as many other nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, George Davis, Jr., Marjorie Hannah; granddaughter, Nalua Rice.
Judy was a devoted homemaker and an enthusiastic nurturer, dedicating her life to her family and community. She cherished her role as a wife to her beloved husband, Robert Rice, Sr., with whom she shared 31 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they created a warm and loving home in Bourg, Louisiana, where Judy's artistic spirit blossomed through her passion for art and music, and her love for tending to her yard and garden.
Judy had a zest for life that was exemplified in her love for travel, exploring new places especially bookstores, and sharing culinary experiences at delightful restaurants alongside her husband. As a proud mother, she devoted herself to her children, and her grandchildren were the light of her life, bringing her immense joy and laughter.
Known for her preparedness in life and her unwavering faith, Judy was a cherished member of her church community. Her generous spirit and kind heart made her a beacon of love and support to those around her.
Funeral services to honor Judy's remarkable life will be held on March 21, 2026, at Chauvin Funeral Home. A public viewing will take place from 9:00 AM, followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM.
Judy will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones and all who were fortunate enough to have known her. In this time of sorrow, we take comfort in celebrating her life, her passions, and the enduring love she cultivated throughout the years.
