Josephine Doris Pellegrin, age 87, of Dulac, Louisiana, passed away on June 21, 2026. Born on December 12, 1938, she was the daughter of Alfred and Ada Pellegrin. Doris dedicated 62 years of her life to managing her father's grocery store, where her hard work and commitment to the community were evident. As the oldest of eleven siblings, she embraced her role as a caregiver, serving as the loving matriarch of her family and the glue that held them together through life's challenges.

Doris was known for her kindness and natural ability to care for others. She often worked seven days a week, embodying the spirit of dedication. In her spare time, Doris enjoyed crafting projects, sewing baby clothes, and cultivating a beautiful garden filled with vibrant flowers.

She is survived by her siblings: James Pellegrin, Clara Boudreaux, Harry Pellegrin, Wiltz Pellegrin, Annie Pellegrin, Mack Pellegrin, Bruce Pellegrin, and Elie Pellegrin; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends and family members who will cherish her memory.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Ada Pellegrin; her sister Mary Ann Pellegrin; and her brother Albert Pellegrin.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Following the mass, she will be laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery.

Doris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of love and family unity will continue to inspire those she has touched throughout her life.
