Joseph Columbus "Boy" Bergeron Jr., 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 9:03pm. Joseph was a native and resident of Houma, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 9:00am until service time at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church at 11:00am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Joseph is survived by his loving family, his children, Glenn Joseph Bergeron (Connie), Joseph C. Bergeron III (Elmire); sister, Glenda Bergeron Positerry; loving grandchildren Brandi Lirette (Brad),Glenn Bergeron II, Dwayne Bergeron II (Kais), Wendy Bergeron, Joey Bergeron IV, Joshua Bergeron (Amanda), Megan Gauthier (John), Victoria Bergeron, 15 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Joseph is preceded in passing by his loving wife of 54 years, Eula Boudreaux Bergeron; parents, Joseph Columbus Bergeron Sr. and Emsie Engeron Bergeron; children, Dwayne and Troy Lee Bergeron; sisters, Ruth Oubre, Irma Margerite and Rita Mae Bergeron, brother-in-laws, Eugene Guidroz, VJ Oubre and Lloyd Positerry; grandchild, Brett Bergeron; great grandchildren, Kinsley and Dylan Brewer.
Joseph enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 1943-1946 During WWII Served with the 508th Platoon in the 1st.Defence Battalion in the Asiatic Pacific on the Aleutian Island until he was honorably discharged
He worked in the Oilfield for Texaco Inc. for 37 years until his retirement
He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.
Joseph (Dad, Boy, PawPaw, Poppa Joe) will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Terrebonne Place staff, Journey Hospice staff, Marine Corp League and Dr. Craig Wade for all their loving care and friendship they provided.
