It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John "Boobie" Terry Gregoire, who left us on September 19, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on March 31, 1961, in Houma, Louisiana, John was a beloved member of the Dulac community and JCPenney Salon.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Eloi Cemetery.

John is survived by his niece, Shannon Guy (Jamie); brothers, Ernest Leroy Gregoire, Paul "Black" Gregoire; sisters, Dorothy Belle Billiot (Curtis), Shirley Bruce; nephews, Chase Guy and Stone Guy (whom he referred to as his grandson and great grandson) He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Morris J. Gregoire and Marjorie Lodrigue Gregoire; sisters, Mary Dion, Karrie Gregoire; brother, Antoine Gregoire.

John graduated from South Louisiana Beauty school in 1990 where he then became an instructor until 1996. John then dedicated over 30 years of his life as a talented hair stylist at JCPenney, where he formed lasting friendships with both co-workers and clients alike. His warm spirit and skilled hands brought joy to many, and he will be remembered for his passion for his craft.

Outside of work, John enjoyed cooking and football season. He would put together a football pool every year. Visiting the thrills of the casino with his friends and often tested his luck with the lottery. He cherished the weekly gatherings with his family, where they would share laughter and good food every Wednesday at their favorite buffet.

His presence will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
