Obituary

With sadness and love in our hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Olivia Daigle, cherished daughter, loving mother, and devoted grandmother, who left us on August 4, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on June 30, 1969, in Houma, LA, Joan brought joy to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

To cherish Joan’s memories is her parents, Elphege “Big John” Daigle (Bonnie) and Bonnie LeBoeuf, beloved children; Shawn Breaux, Shane Breaux (Gabrielle), Sydney Smith (Tyler) and Seth Pragnell, her adored grandchildren; Emilia, Sophia, Dorian, Olivia, Warren, and expecting Baby Smith soon, her sister, Francine Hood (Craig), her step siblings; James LeBoeuf, John LeBoeuf, Roy LeBoeuf, Jr., Kenneth Bonvillian and Lisa Gautreaux, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joan is reunited in Heaven with her brother, John Nolen Daigle.

Joan proudly served as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), dedicating her career to caring for others. Beyond her profession, she was an active and influential member of the National Ataxia Foundation, where she proudly held the position of president of the Louisiana Chapter.

Joan's love for her family was unparalleled; she cherished her time spent on her porch, sipping coffee, and sharing stories with her beloved sister. Joan's heart was especially full during moments with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She fostered a warm and loving family environment where everyone was welcome.

Joan’s family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life during a Celebration of Life at 815 Funderburk Avenue on August 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Though we grieve her passing, we also come together to honor and commemorate the vibrant spirit she brought into our lives.

Joan’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the National Ataxia Foundation.

If you would still like to send flowers, they may be sent to the address above on the day of celebration.

Rest in peace, Joan. Your love and light will forever shine brightly in our lives.
