Jo Ann Griffin

Jo Ann Griffin passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on July 11, 1942, in Yoakum, Texas, she later made her home in Houma, Louisiana, where she touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and genuine kindness.

Honoring the wishes of Jo Ann, there will be no formal services held at this time.

Jo Ann is survived by her sons, Daniel Griffin, Jr. (Lydia), and Michael Griffin, Sr. (Candace); grandchildren, Christopher Griffin, Lauren Griffin Prosperie (Michael), and Michael Griffin, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Lainey, Margaret, and Nathan Prosperie.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Griffin, Sr.; parents, Walter J. May, Sr. and Rinda Posecai May; brothers, Walter “Sonny” May, Jr. and Darell May, Sr.

Jo Ann was known for her welcoming nature—she truly never met a stranger. Her passions included tending to her yard, painting her home with a heart full of creativity, and enjoying lively games of Pokeno with friends and family.

Jo Ann's warmth and kindness extended to her neighbors, who cherished her friendship and support throughout the years. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandkids, who adored her and will forever carry her love in their hearts.

Jo Ann will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all.
